Get excited for New Orleans Pride 2016, a weekend-long celebration to promote the history and future prosperity of the LGBT communities in the New Orleans and Gulf Coast areas. Located in the French Quarter, Pride will continue to take a positive stance against discrimination towards lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and bring together all communities for a family friendly and celebratory event.
Louisiana’s largest Pride Parade will begin at 7:00 p.m. and proceed throughout the French Quarter neighborhood.
Pridefest on Bourbon Street
On the corner of Bourbon and St. Ann Streets, there will be a stage with performances by local male and female impersonators, local bands, and the celebrity Grand Marshal. There will be giveaways for the crowd and the event is free and open to the public.
Official New Orleans Pride Party: A Girl Party
From 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., The Bourbon Pub will host the Official New Orleans Pride Party. Promoted as the perfect event for ladies, this event will have prime balcony viewing of the Pride Parade!
Pride in New Orleans is a free-spirited and fun celebration over four days, beginning with Poly Cockit at Upstairs in Bourbon Pub on Thursday. On Friday, head out for the transgender-focused Girl Party and kickoff event at Harrah's Hotel Ballroom.
Saturday, it's time for the Official New Orleans Pride Festival in Washington Square Park, in fabulous Faubourg Marigny, from 11 am until 4 pm. Saturday is also time for the New Orleans Gay Pride Parade, which is set for 7 pm, leaving from Washington Park and marching through the French Quarter and then back to Washington Square. There's then a Pride Party on Saturday night, and "Dance Bitch" Pride T-Dance at Bourbon Pub on Sunday.
